English Communication Skills
These elective courses are designed to improve your conversation skills and, to a degree, your written competencies at three levels of proficiency: Lower (A1-A2), Medium (B1-B2) and Higher (C1-C2). You may choose to attend them solely to improve your communication skills or add them onto your regular class.
You will participate in lively and interesting discussions about a wide variety of topics and develop fluency and accuracy in communicating in English, whilst working on your vocabulary and pronunciation.
You will be given the opportunity to practise fluency in a wide range of realistic contexts and situations, and develop functional and colloquial language in class debates and discussions, decision making and problem solving activities, surveys, presentations, quizzes, interviews, simulations and role plays.
Each class covers;
- Speaking: Lots of speaking time with your class and dedicated teacher which will build correct pronunciation, confidence and fluency.
- Grammar: Everything you’ll need to know, presented in a memorable and enjoyable way.
- Vocabulary: You’ll learn the important, key words and together with our Online English Campus, there’s 24/7 access to practice exercises. tests and videos . Your personal word lists are helpfully kept just for you and Macmillan’s online English dictionary accesses over 100,000 definitions.
- Writing: For students that need to improve their writing skills your teacher will guide you on how to communicate meaning to the standard you want to achieve.
- Listening: Your teacher will show you the techniques for effective listening.
- Feedback: There will be clear and constructive advice from your teacher on how to improve quickly. Language errors will be corrected and fully explained. You’ll get weekly progress reports and a record of how you’re improving.
Class Summary
Small Group Specialist: | Intensive, 4.5 to 7.5 hours per week, 4-8 students in the group |
Class Days: | Monday to Friday – or choose 3 days per week, choose from 2 sessions per day |
Classes Per Week: | up to 5 classes per week. Classes are 90 minutes/1.5 hours per day. |
Schedule: | 1:30pm -3:00pm Or 4:30pm-6:00pm |
